Rules

Please read the following rules carefully. And thank you for your interest in assisting In the Moment with it’s mission.

  • You must have your own domain.
    We will not accept any sites on free hosting domains nor any “image stations” or the like. We want the caps to be on reliable servers. Also, we don’t accept sites hosted on someone else’s domain. Screencaps take up a lot of space and bandwidth and I don’t think it’s fair to use someone else’s space.
  • You must create a special site dedicated to the screencaps.
    We appreciate, beyond he telling, any webmaster that has taken the time to cap and create galleries on an existing site. However, our vision is to have individual sites dedicated to each episode capped. In the case of two-part eps, should you choose to cap both, one site is perfectly acceptable.
  • In the Moment sites can also be fanlistings
    As long as the caps aren’t just considered an ‘extra’: they must be top quality and be easily accesible (i.e. a direct link in the main navigation menu)
  • You must house the screencaps on your domain.
    You may not use your domain for the main page and host the caps on a free server.
  • Free servers and Image Station sites will not be accepted.
    We are trying to provide a reliable directory/service for caps. Free servers, that could delete pages or disappear, are unstable and hence not really fulfilling the idea or premise of our service. Domains that are paid for are simply more reliable and this is about fulfillment.
  • All caps must be thumb-nailed.
    It would also be great if each one opened in it’s own window.
  • You must provide a link back to In the Moment.
    Especially if you want to be included in this directory. We want everyone to be able to use our service and find all the caps they are looking for. Don’t link back, and the episode will be given away.
  • Caps must be at least 500×375 in size.
    We are looking for fairly large caps. Caps the size of postage stamps are abundant on the web. Although any caps are good caps, we are trying to provide high quality caps for arts and layouts.
  • Caps should be of decent quality.
    Much like small caps, grainy caps are everywhere. Obviously those eps available on DVDs are going to be of higher quality than those that are not. That will most definitely be taken into consideration when you apply to donate.
  • A minimum of 350 caps is required.
    More than that is very much acceptable.
  • Create a pleasing layout.
    It would be fantastic if you made an uber fancy layout for your caps page but a simple gallery, dedicated to the episode, is acceptable as well. We know not everyone has time for fanciness. The screencaps are our focus.
  • Your page must be easy to navigate.
  • You must include a disclaimer on your page.
  • Screencaps must be made by you.
    Please do not take caps from others, or from closed sites, and claim them as your own. Myself, and those that have graciously agreed to help me with this site are very aware of existing caps. Stealing is wrong.
  • Screencaps are to be new and exclusive.
    The caps you’ve made should only be found through this directory or through your domain. If you made caps for an existing fan site let us know and we’ll include it in the links section.
  • You must provide a cap example.
    If you have yet to be accepted, or donate, I ask that you show me proof of your capping capabilities. Please upload a cap or two to your server and provide a URL in the donate form. Or, if you have already capped another episode, please provide the URL to your past work.
  • You have one month to finish capping and upload.
    Once you’ve been accepted you will have one month to complete the page. If you need more time, please email me to let me know when the page will be finished.
  • You may only have three upcoming In the Moment per show at a time.
    You can be the webmaster of as many In the Moment sites as you would like. This rule just means you cannot apply for a bunch of In the Moment sites at once. The capping, creating and uploading takes awhile, even for seasoned web-designers. Real-life takes precedence and things get forgotten. (Which I completely understand, btw). So, from this point forward you must apply, get accepted, finish your In the Moment site, upload it, fill out the completed form and get my response BEFORE you will be allowed to cap another 3 episodes.
    **This rules does not apply to two-part episodes
  • You must provide an entire episodes worth of caps.
    The minimum amount of caps is 350. That should allow for full representation of the complete ep. If you can’t provide caps from the beginning to end of the episode, please let me know. I may allow for an extension, but a date will be given to you as to when you need to complete the caps, and there will be no extension after that time.
  • I WILL NOT REMIND YOU THAT YOUR SITE IS OVERDUE - If it becomes overdue I will remove it on the next update.
    Please pay attention to the date of your acceptance email. I do not have time to keep you timely and organized. I have my own stuff to take care of. I apologize for being harsh, but I am incredibly frustrated with people taking advantage of my “extension” rule.
  • YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOUR SITE DUE DATE TO ASK FOR AN EXTENSION.
    As stated in rule #19 I have limited time. It is incredibly rude, when I plainly state that sites are to be completed in one month, to have to remind someone that their site is overdue and then have them ask for two or more extensions. I will not grant extensions unless you contact me before your due date and then provide a new due date! Only one extension will be granted!
  • If your site is down for more than two weeks I will automatically remove it and put the episode on the available list. There will be no emails from me! If you contact me within that time and let me know your “issues” and HOW LONG your site will be down I MAY keep your site listed here, it’s all case by case.
  • Please provide a screencap example from the episode itself.
    I ask that you provide an actual ep cap as I need to know that they will be of high quality. That is all.
